JK Umbrella Scholarship 2026: The Jammu and Kashmir UT government has announced a scholarship scheme for education of ST students for the FY 2025-26. This scholarship scheme is made for the students of pre-matric classes where both male and female candidates can apply online. Through this scheme, the eligible students will receive 2250 (day scholar annually) and 5250 (hostelers annually) along with adhoc grant of 750 for day scholar and 1000 for hostelers. This scholarship program aims to provide support to various backward students to pursue their education and improve their life quality. In addition to the above benefits, Divyangjan (students with disabilities) are entitled to an extra monthly allowance of ₹600 (₹7,200 annually) for day scholars and ₹800 (₹9,600 annually) for hostellers.
Eligibility Criteria:-
- The scholarship is granted for one academic year and is paid for ten months only. It cannot normally be extended for repeating a class; however, in case of failure, it may continue for one additional year or the duration of the repeated class, whichever is shorter.
- Students in Class 9 can renew the scholarship for Class 10, and postgraduate first-year students may also renew it, subject to good conduct and at least 75% attendance. Renewal for subsequent years requires an annual progress report from the head of the institution. Students unable to appear in exams due to illness may renew by submitting a valid medical certificate, subject to institutional approval. Students promoted with pending exams may also receive renewal if approved by the institution.
- The income certificate is require only at the time of admission. If both parents are employee, their combine income from all sources will be take into account. Orphan students supported by a guardian are exempt from the income limit criteria.
- Aadhaar authentication is mandatory for renewal if not previously completed. Students studying outside their domicile state will receive the scholarship from their home state. The concerned State/UT authority will follow prescribed guidelines for verification and processing

Steps to Apply Online for JK Umbrella Scholarship 2026?
- Click on the “Apply Now” button.
- Select “Register” and fill in the required registration details. (If already registered, log in using Gmail ID, mobile number, or email ID.)
- Go to the “Students” section on the left side of the dashboard.
- Click on “Login” under the OTR (One-Time Registration) option, as OTR is mandatory for applying on NSP.
- Choose “New user? Register yourself” to begin the registration process.
- Read the instructions carefully, tick the declaration checkbox, and click “Next.”
- Enter a valid mobile number, captcha code, and OTP to complete registration.
- Fill in the required details and click “Save & Register” to complete the OTR process. (Students must download the OTR mobile app and complete face authentication to finalize OTR.)
- After successful registration, go to “Apply for Scholarship” and log in.
- Select the scholarship, complete the application form, upload required documents, and submit.
